Officials Post Game
I'm a scorer for a D-1 school, both men & women's games. It has been very rare for officials to hang around longer than 30 minutes. I can only recall 1 time it took over an hour and that happened to be then night the league supervisor of officials happened to be there and they crew forgot to report the number on a foul. We finally got it 2 dead balls later during a media time-out. And then they reported the wrong number (# reported wasn't in the game)
Most nights, even with the observer and I checking in the crew, they're gone in less than 40 minutes. They usually have long drives. Monty Python (and sometimes basketball is a flying circus) |

I usually the slow one in the crew so I'm the last to shower and get dressed. However, from the time I get into the locker room it usually only takes me about 25 minutes.
Now, sometimes, the AD will have food brought in for us and we'll hang around eat and shoot the bull with him. But, even in that case, it's only another 20-30 minutes tops. An hour and a half seems really, really long! |

We still have a private high school that we service where the athletic director has a few, just a few, cold beers for us after a game. Last edited by BillyMac; Wed Jan 30, 2008 at 09:14pm. |

Usually out of there in 20 minutes if possible for HS games, but I've had and observed college games where there was a critique after the game that took as long as an hour. A lot of small college games in our area have observers, especially in the metro areas.
