Double Whistle
Last night during the Georgetown vs Alabama game I thought almost every whistle on every call by the refs was double - tweet, tweet.
Is this NCAA rules? Anyone else use this technique? Only time I can think I blow the whistle more than once (routinely) is on a tussle during a held ball to ensure everyone hears me and stops wrestling and before it gets too nasty. Thoughts?

In some areas it seems you get single blasts on fouls and the tweet-tweets on violations.
I try to have a single blast on everything...I'll hold it for timeouts, or if I need to close on a long-range call...unless I have something with nasty potential and I'll usually close with multiple blasts. |
