Just as an update, either I can't read or they changed their minds (or perhaps I misunderstood the way they're numbering years)--there is now a basketball program available from ARS.

Thanks for the recommendation, ordering now.

I just purchased & downloaded the new version.

From what it says on the ARS site, Human Kinetics/ASEP has canceled the contract they had with NFHS to develop the training/ online testing program, but NFHS still isn't talking to ARS, so not sure what NFHS is going to do at this point.....guess we'll find out eventually. The whole thing sounds like a major "charlie foxtrot" to me.........

Hmmm... I wonder if the ASEP - NFHS relationship is faltering due to the fact that many states officials organizations decided that $75/official was excessive for what was offered. Since, Oregon now requires that all officials working post season games take the ASEP course or an approved equivalent, the state officials organization for Oregon created a substitute and charged $10 for it to cover the costs of running it.

Might be part of it...wouldn't surprise me if it was. This info is from the NFHS web site...

Human Kinetics/American Sport Education Program (ASEP) canceled the NFHS Officials Education Program contract that was scheduled for renewal in April. ASEP shared that the decision was based on poor sales over the past three years and little interest in organizational commitments for the future. The NFHS and ASEP will be working together to assist those states that had contracts with ASEP for this program. The courses posted are still excellent training and educational resources and appropriate for professional development.
