I guess I should have actually read the home page. Does anybody know what this testing is they mention? I'm not aware of any testing available at the NFHS site.

The testing on the NF site will be relatively small. Here's their theory - if a small quiz is a quizzical, what's a small test?

No uproar at all. Just telling you what anyone should expect if they want to try and get a copy here of this year's NFHS exam and/or answers before all states have finished writing it. It's simply not ethical and could be judged as a means of cheating.

NFHS has partnered with another company to provide all of the sports officials testing online. I believe that it is only rolling out to a few states this year.

Here in AZ, football and volleyball officials had to take their tests online this year. 50 questions, all true-false. Still the same crappy questions that have appeared on past exams.

My understanding is that there is a database of about 1000 questions and each official that logs into the testing site gets a random set of 50. From all of the VB officials that I have spoken with since the testing closed last week, it seems that we all got about 5 of the same questions, and a sampling of others. It also allows you an allotted amount of time to complete the test, for us it was 6 hours. So you can do ten questions, take a break, do 10 more, come back and finish the next day, whatever...the clock is only running while you are signed into the test.

Just as an update, either I can't read or they changed their minds (or perhaps I misunderstood the way they're numbering years)--there is now a basketball program available from ARS.

I just purchased & downloaded the new version.

From what it says on the ARS site, Human Kinetics/ASEP has canceled the contract they had with NFHS to develop the training/ online testing program, but NFHS still isn't talking to ARS, so not sure what NFHS is going to do at this point.....guess we'll find out eventually. The whole thing sounds like a major "charlie foxtrot" to me.........

Hmmm... I wonder if the ASEP - NFHS relationship is faltering due to the fact that many states officials organizations decided that $75/official was excessive for what was offered. Since, Oregon now requires that all officials working post season games take the ASEP course or an approved equivalent, the state officials organization for Oregon created a substitute and charged $10 for it to cover the costs of running it.
