Overtime

Watching the Pistons/Cavs last night my roommate asked me questions about extra TO's and fouls to give in OT. From what we saw it looked like the pros get both.

For the life of me, I could not remember what FED is for TO's. Foul count remains but do teams get another 60 or 30 second TO for OT?

Fed gets one more full that gets added to the remaining time-outs available.

No level allows the players extra fouls. In the NBA it is six for DQ, while NFHS and NCAA is five.

I did stats at a summer league last summer that played with some pro rules, and here is what I remember we did for the only overtime game we had:

Both teams got one full time out (not including any NBA required media timeouts).

Also, 4 teams fouls is the penalty in an overtime period, rather than 5. (Count starts over in each period)

I mean team fouls for bonus, not player total

In high school it just keeps adding up as if it were an extension of the second half.

Ah...that's because it is an extension of the second half.

Obviously from a few different posts I made today, my dry humor knob is turned up too high. I'll crank it down a little.

PS Congrats on making 10,000 posts. Where's that little img with all the little folks bowing and saying, "We are not worthy, we are not worthy!"

Or, if we want to go by the rulebook, part of the 4th quarter (which, yes, I do realize is part of the 2nd half). (5-7-3)

Yeah, but he's still living with Oprah's boyfriend (Stedman).

I know the one you mean with the little guys all bowing down to the central figure, but as I can't find that one this one will have to do on short notice.

I'm sure that JR will come along and post the other one.
