... that's too bad. I couldn't tell from any of the early articles if he was married, or had any kids, but I hope not - that would just add another layer of sadness to the story.

First Daryl Kile, now Josh Hancock. And, both happened during series with the Cubs. Strange.

I saw an interesting stat - the Yankees used 5 or more pitchers in the last 10 consectutive games, which was the most consectutive games in the last 50 years.

Kinda makes the Cubs' pitching staff look solid, don't it?

Very sad. No kids and he wasn't married.

It is very strange. I was reading a story on another board where this guy rented buses to go watch the game 5 years ago (church group, I believe). They again had buses rented to go watch the game last night...very strange.

Wow.

I'd be willing to bet they guy's first name has four letters, like "Kyle", and the guy's last name has 7 leters, like "Hancock".

(Cue "Twilight Zone" music.)

Not to mention a starter on Saturday going 0.0 innings and facing two batters.

It really is a low blow to talk about Mark Prior's season. That is just cold.

Peace

Hey! Watch it...

Besides, he couldn't have been talking about Prior, because Prior hasn't faced any batters this season.

I lost count of how many innings or batters he faces. Considering it sounds like the same story over and over again with him. Or was I talking about Kerry Wood?

Peace

Yea, they do seem to be rather interchangeable sometimes.

Funny thing about that. There is a radio show that had a contest for listeners to send in a song with a Cubs and Sox theme. The hosts would give away tickets to an event for the best song. As usual the songs are covers of popular or existing songs. Well one guy did a song with the "Love and Marriage" that Frank Sinatra sung.

One of the lines was...."Love and Marriage...Love and Marriage, they (Wood and Prior) are held together with some string and wire" If find the song online (which I believe they post as well) then I will try to post it here.

Peace

Well - at least he has a 0.00 ERA.

Or would it be approaching infinity?

I believe the correct term is "undefined."

Geeze, you finally get a good pitching job, and out of your prize rookie too, and he DL's himself for 4-6 weeks. Had a no-hitter going at the time too.

The Yanks are snake-bitten so far this year.

Well, do you remember that deal with the devil that they made a few years back to get into all of those World Series? It looks like he's collecting.
