Here's my question. Obviously, you want to be able to take the patches on and off. Are you going to wear the shirt with no patches at all? If so, IMHO, a patchless shirt with velcro on it looks extremely bush league. Also, patches that are unattached at the edges and flap because the velcro is only attached in the middle look bad. Again, just IMO.
Is it really so expensive to buy an extra shirt or two with patches? |

Sorry...
johnSandlin: Sorry. From your original post and the phrase "liquid adhesive", I thought you were looking for a permanent solution to your problem. Here in Connecticut, a mostly IAABO state, we have the IAABO patch embroidered into our shirt. Our local board decided to add the American flag a few years ago. We do not have a local or state patch, so everything is permanent. I agree with Scrapper 1, buy a couple of extra shirts and permanently put on the patches for the differerent associations that you officiate for. Your uniform will look sharper.
M&M Guy: You're right. Many washings can cause the edges to curl up, so I get a needle and thread and stitch down the corners of the flag. Only takes a few minutes and requires little sewing knowledge. In got off my lazy butt and went down to the laundry area in my basement to get the material in question. It's "Therm O Web HeatnBond Iron-On Adhesive Ultra Hold". |
