re jump?

Hi All-
Start of game jump ball. Player slaps the ball OOB w/ out any other player controlling it or even touching it for that matter. Since nobody had control at that point, wouldn't the correct call be to bring it back to the circle and jump again?

Nope, OOB off the player who slapped it out. Ball goes to the other team, and the arrow goes to the team not getting the ball.

You'd have a similar situation if a foul occurred during the jump. You deal with the foul and move on from there.

The only times you would rejump are if: the toss is wonky, if the tap is held by two opponents before control is established (then you'd rejump it between these two players), or you have some kind of double violation (like simultaneous jump ball violations by opponents, or opponents simultaneously knocking the uncontrolled ball out of bounds). Hmmm, probably ought to add any foul that results in POI to that list as well.

Have I forgotten anything?

Don't forget to add the situation when it looks funny to the official.

How could I have forgotten this essential call?
