Wrong Number in the book.
There are some situations in Rule 3 in the case book similar, but not quite the same. I'm looking for a ruling.
Foul called on B13 Report to the table and A is ready to inbound at the side when horn sounds and the scorekeeper says he has no 13 in the book. He has a 31. Apparently they reversed the number when it was entered in the book because there was no 31 on the team. At that point we corrected the mistake and assessed a "T", gave A 2 shots and the ball at the side. Did we do it right? |

That depends. If the scorer was given a roster and transposed the number on his/her won, it's not a T. it's a scorer's error. It's not the coach's fault if he provides the proper info but the scorer doesn't enter it properly.
Otheriwse, that would be the correct enforcement.

You did everything right. I had the same situation before. I aslo had a similar one when the official scorer made the mistake by transposing the numbers. The visiting book has the correct number. SInce is was a scorer's error I let it go.
