Helping players up
Just curious the current school of thought about helping players to their feet. I have noticed in the NBA that this is a fairly common practice. I was told about 5 years ago - HANDS OFF.
Are we too worried about getting sued? Is the practice ok in the NBA and maybe NCAA but not ok in NFHS? |

My opinion is do not offer your hand unless you know the player will take it.
Looks pretty bad when you're standing there with your hand out to help & the player gets up on his own & walks away from you. I quietly ask if he wants help, if he stretches out his hand I'll help. If he doesn't...well, who cares.
