I find it disturbing that a mentor (Is that the same as an assignor?) would tell you to pass on the foul becuase it is off ball, like that is a mitigating factor. I recall the rule book telling you to not call fouls farther than 10 feet from the ball.

He is probably one of these don't call 3 seconds if the ball doesn't go in the paint guys too.

"Off ball" stuff is just the same as "on ball" stuff and we need to call it. The whole interupt the flow of the game bull is just an excuse to be lazy IMO. There are things you should pass on, but if you would call it if it was "on ball" then you better put some air in your fox if it is "off-ball".
