7-6-6: Allows the official administering a throw-in to the wrong team to correct the mistake before the first dead ball after the ball becomes live unless there is a change of possession.
My partner used the new rule yesterday after we went the wrong way on an alternating possession throwin. First time for me with the new rule. It felt "odd" that we could inbound the ball on the backcourt endline, get the ball into the frontcourt, set up an offense, and then have a full "do over". I was so surprised that I forgot that I could deduct my backcourt count and put some time back on the game clock. Maybe next time?
