A few years ago it took me a while to get comfortable with two hand (and stating the actual number and not stating each digit) reporting.

Do what the NBA officials do and point your fingers towards each other instead of up when reporting numbers from 6-9.
Although illegal at the NFHS level, you may still have this in a game as the HC could just take a direct technical foul and have a player wear number seven, for example.
