I believe that the perpetrator is eighteen, not sure about Texas, but in many states he would be tried as an adult.

Fairly certainly that is true in Texas too.

This incident shows a lack of discipline within the team, which is a responsibility of the coaching staff. So I’m not surprised.

So punish the perpetrator to the full extent of his parents, the team, the athletic department, the school, the school system, the Texas interscholastic sports governing body; local, state, and federal laws; censure or penalize the head coach, and the rest of the coaching staff, maybe even go after the athletic director, school principal, and school superintendent, in some severe manner, but don't punish all the players on the team, some or many of whom have probably exhibited good sportsmanship throughout the season, and throw out the baby with the bathwater.

I have no problem with what they did. It’s a team sport. You know the saying “We win as a team, we lose as a team.”

Well, this time they lost as a team.

If there were unsporting problems with this team throughout the season (maybe just throughout that game), I reluctantly agree.

I saw another video of a coach with the player after the ejection. He walks player (and I mean had to stay right with him) to the sideline. Once there, said coach inexplicably walks away and they player then decides to run on the field. That staff should have had that kid until he was in law enforcement hands or at the least leaving the field of play with an adult.

Perhaps they determined the problem was with more than just that player. Perhaps his attitude was fostered by someone else. It wouldn't be the first time.
