While Some Things Change ...

... Some Things Stay the Same.

We got this from IAABO today, a look back 60 years inside the 1960-61 IAABO handbook. Just like today, blocking (screening principles), traveling, the use of proper signals by officials, rebounding, post play, incidental contact, technical fouls, and intentional fouls were areas of concern in the game. For the first time that year, there was a penalty for failure to occupy the lane spaces adjacent to the end line on a free throw.

I hope that the couple driving in that Chevrolet Corvair realize that it's "unsafe at any speed" (Young'uns can look it up on the Google).

I Was Only Seven Years Old ...

Coaches weren't allowed to request timeouts (only players).

If a coach did attempt to request a timeout from the bench he was charged with a technical foul for "sideline coaching".

Seems harsh.
