I have watched this many times, many angles, and the buzzer sounds after he releases, the time on the clock shows zero and i believe it is in his hand, BUT, the light on the backboard isn't on....this is a no win for the official having to make this call. By rule there is nothing preventing a catch and shoot with 0.6 on the clock. If he beat the LED lights, then he is good, barring an obvious timing error. If there is not a light, the sounding of the horn is controlling for NFHS games. Zero showing on the clock has no meaning in contests without video review.
