Ask your local / state association whether that (or any other uniform) restriction is to be enforced at sub-varsity levels.

35. They can't have both 0 and 00.

Of course, they can have more than 35 but would have to suffer the consequences of an illegal number . . .

The "0 and 00" argument is for 36 total vs. 37. They can't have "1 and 01" either, but that doesn't bring the total down to 34.

Here are the combinations:

0 1 2 3 4 5
10 11 12 13 14 15
20 21 22 23 24 25
30 31 32 33 34 35
40 41 42 43 44 45
50 51 52 53 54 55

Legal Numbers

Please count again. 0,1,2,3,4,5 is 6 numbers.
Bob types faster than I do.

14 players is the number I see most often.

Yeah, it's 36, not 31... counting is hard.

And... to think... I was a Math minor in college.

So, in an absolute worst case scenario, you could have 358 total fouls on players in a single game (everyone fouls out except one player per team, and those two players have 4 fouls apiece, in a situation where both teams still have a theoretical chance to win the game).... plus however many technical fouls... which could theoretically be infinite, given an infinite number of assistant coaches (which it seems like some schools are at least attempting to have on staff).
