Test Question

Guards, casts and braces must meet the following guidelines, EXCEPT:
a. Hard and unyielding items (guards, casts, braces, etc.) on the upper arm or shoulder must be padded
b. Knee and ankle braces which are unaltered from the manufacturer's original design
c. A guard, cast or brace made of a hard and unyielding substance may not be worn on the elbow, hand, finger/thumb, wrist or forearm.
d. All of the above
According to 3-5-2, you would think that c might be the answer as the rule reads "shall".

Another goofy question. It says Guards casts and braces MUST meet following guidelines EXCEPT….(which one isn't a requirement)

Rule says knee and ankle braces which are unaltered from original design do not have to be padded or meet color restrictions. Implies that altered braces can be worn if padded etc. so B is best i can come up with.

The fact that c says "MAY not" instead of "SHALL not" isn't enough. Both make clear you can't do it.

D is all of the above. I'm reading the question as asking which are not guidelines because it says Except. D to me means none of the listed items are guidelines. What is your line of thought on it? Thx

You make a good point. I think I'll change my answer to B.

They screwed themselves up with their own question. They likely meant D to be none of the above. Or the "except" word confused them. They ought to test knowledge and not try to be "clever." Leads to screw ups.
