Is this just your gimmick or is there a reason to wait more than a few seconds to make a call?

it's just a gimmick of mine, i like to take my time in making a call. Mostly to prevent making an out call only to have a fielder drop the ball. I just wanna be "satisfied" that it's an out and then slowly call the out since it's so obvious. I'm also somewhat slow on my strike calls, I learned my timing from Tim McClelland. As Bill Klem once said: "it ain't nothing till I call it"

If F5 guns it to F3 to beat a slow BR by 25 feet, I'm signaling an out once F3 has possession and then I'm getting back to A for the next play. Game on. Last edited by briancurtin; Fri Jul 17, 2009 at 10:49pm. Reason: I can't type |

His strike zone I could see adopting, but not his timing. Better to get your timing from Thing, not Learch. |
