A bunch of "no-name" umpires, aside from Montague and Hirshbeck. I guess they are trying to give them some experience.

Talking "No Namers"?

They may be "no-namers" but they are working in the show...more than you or I are doing...Besides I only know 2 professional umpires, Gerry Davis and a guy working AAA from the town I live in. That makes them all "no-namers".

You're being facetious, right?

All I was saying is that I simply hadn't heard of 4 of the umpires.

Montague and Hirshbeck have been around for years, so I have heard their names. The other 4 are probably excellenet umpires, I just didn't recognize their names.

I didn't mean it as "they aren't good enough to be in the AS game".

No-names?

Sam Holbrook has something like 23 years exp. and is very good. Our local association has had him as a guest speaker a couple times. Got to start sometime?

Bob, please lock this old, tired thread before it gets out of hand. I opened it up and thought they had announced the crew for 2008!

I'll bet Baseball North knows who Doug Eddings is by now!
