there are (or have been in the past) at least two broadcasting crews. It's just too exhausting to do a game at 2 and another at 7.

Wouldn't it be nice if WE could do that - have a second crew instead of doing a DH?

It would be, if we got paid for DH and only worked one, like the announcers apparently are paid.

To rehash this thread: I know in NCAA a RHP has to gain ground to first on a jump turn when attempting to pick a runner off. Is the same true in FED rules? If so, rule reference?

6-1-2, esp. the phrase "step with the non-pivot foot"

That's what I was going off of too.

Can anyone with the Evans balk video expand on this? I've heard that he addresses differences in rule sets, but I haven't seen the video. Has anyone else heard an interpretation that you don't have to gain ground in FED in this situation?

No. The rule is the same at all levels.

I hope your smilies follow this comment!! These guys are siting down in an air-conditioned booth watching a ball game! What's exhausting about that? Most of us do that for relaxation.
