I use leather boot laces for my plate shoes.

NB should be ashamed of the laces they put in those new shoes. It's like buying a Hummer and realizing it only has an AM radio!

They are terrible laces. Especially the plate shoe. Go to a military supply store. Buy some #5 black parachute chord. You can pull and pull and it wont break!

GREAT tip. The stuff I got is called 550 Type III Commercial Nylon Paracord. 550lb. test and made in the USA. 10 bucks for 100 ft. Thanks.

550 cord, we used it in the military, love that stuff... but im not using it on my shoes, and those will not break.
