most of the travel teams are USSSA in this area. It makes it easier for them to be in the abundance of tournaments that USSSA has.

Amazing to me how many different "World Series" they have in one summer.

We've seen a shift in my area for travel teams to play USSSA instead of AAU which was very popular when I first moved to this area 8 years ago. Most of the feedback I got was that USSSA charged less to play and teams were taking on less expense as a result.

I have noticed a similar shift here.

As a sidenote, I do not like working the smallball USSSA in this area because most times they are played on skinned diamonds with portable mounds. The lack of infield grass in baseball games annoys me (but not in softball games, go figure).
