Short game and minimum play
Little League rule book says that if player does not receive minimum play time (6 defensive outs and one at-bat), then in the next game he must start, make up the missed requirements from the original game, and play the minimum for the current game, before he can be removed. However there is an exception if the original game was "shortened for any reason."
Because our local league has a 1-1/2 hour time limit, most games last only three or four innings. Does that mean a coach could ignore the make-up rule because the game was "shortened for any reason"? Second question: If a player who does not get min play time in a game does not come to the next game, do the "next game MPT makeup" requirements carry over to the game after that? |

Sealy,
Good questions I'm sure but you will not get much help on this board. Most consider this to be a big boy ball forum. Little league questions, epecially ones regarding a modified local rule are best asked at your local level. You could also try this site. http://www.umpire.org/ They have a little league forum.
