Lineup, number error...
Had this happen in a summer college game today.
Pinch hitter comes in wearing #22, correct number on lineup is 21, for whatever reason I don't catch it. No one does. Player walks. Then defensive manager comes out, "hey, we've got a number issue here".. We allow the substution, and change the # on lineup and scoresheet, argue that he's legal, he's the right player, just wrong jersey #; just a typographical error... Were we wrong? Any thoughts/comments are appreciated.

Just names count. However, they should be 'last' names, not first names. I get coach's riled when I insist that they re-write their lineups to correct that. What good does a card with 3 Erics, 2 Bobs and a Lance?
And while we are on line-up card pet peeves, who makes those little tiny cards that are just bigger then a postage stamp anyway?
