I would've rather had him working the MWC tourney with me.

Had that been the case, though, the head coach of an Illinois school who will remain nameless wouldn't have been able to make endless (yet oblique enough to not get run) excuses about how "Wisconsin umpires" were out to get them. Then again, it takes real talent to blame the umpiring in an 8-run loss.

I worked a game in Rockford earlier this season and the minor league park they're using is quite nice. Locker room for the umpires with a bathroom, shower, three lockers....

Funny. Had you not mentioned this was an Illinois team, I would've thought it sounded like Augie from Carthage.

Ha. Wrong conference, though. Carthage is in the CCIW. I haven't seen Augie in a while.

Edited to say: You knew that, though, since you worked that tourney.

They're always looking for an edge, though, aren't they?
