From my experience, I can understand why the hitting was light.
The Wood Bat Tourneys that I have worked have a bunch of generic bats where one size fits all. Most have that *medium* size handle, and maybe none are thick handled or thin handled, unless a few players special ordered and brought them to the game. ![]() |

Illinois is doing a test study with wood bats in HS games this season. there are 4 or 5 conferences that were supplied with bats by the the IHSA. Each bat has a barcode and is tracked by the coaches.
