I don't know if he actually made it to second at the time of the ejection, and I don't know if anyone else did either as all eyes were on the plate. It didn't affect the outcome as the next batter hit an inning-ending pop up. This was indeed a Pete Rose-Ray Fosse collision except the catcher held on to the ball and two innings later hit the game winning HR.
