"It was a blown call on my part,” he said after the game. “It was poor judgment on my part. I thought he had his hand on the puck on the faceoff but it was his stick. My judgment was poor on the play.”

After officiating in this sport and baseball for around twenty years, this is no different then the error's in judgements weve seen in many playoffs and regular season baseball games. Some nights, it just don't go as planned.

Comparing the two sports though, I believe that ice hockey is more difficult because of the constant movement of both the officials and players. Things happen much faster and the official has less time to anticipate positioning for those things when they do happen. You make a decision and go with it. Sometimes it's wrong.
