Notching is the way to go.

Mine have two sets of notches;

A large (wide) one on the Zero's.

A small (narrow) one on Strike 2, Ball 3, Out 2.

Being able to feel when to punch a batter out, send them to 1st base, or not to call a double play, can save you some embarrassment.
