It is no different than hitting a pitch out of the strike zone. Valladmier Guerreo (excuse the spelling) does this every game. Nolan Ryans son told a story about Guerreo facing Nolan Ryan in a simulated game in A ball. Nolan Ryan threw a 50' curveball that bounced in front of the plate, he said Guerreo smiled and hit it off the leftfield wall.
