Does the same scenrio apply to a pitcher?
Could a pitcher change "arms" during an abat and or every other batter? Dixie Youth Baseball only allows a pitcher to throw a max of 6 innings per week. Could a kid pitch 6 innings on Monday right handed and pitch 6 innings on Thursday?

FED and NCAA: A pitcher must pitch to a batter as either a RH or a LH pitcher (no switching during an at-bat). They can switch for different batters. Almost all leagues with restrictions: The restrictions apply to the pitcher, not to the arm. |

The answer is NO, to the ridiculous question. |

We've had this line of questioning!
This was the decision 'round here- An ambedextrous pitcher is actually TWO pitchers. When and if he switches, he may not switch back. When and if he swiches, he will be permitted warm-up pitches. When and if he switches, he will be permitted two additional mound visits. It was determined for whatever reason that each arm is a seperate pitching entity. Given this 'ruling', yeah, a kid could extend his innings per week! But again, that was just what was decided upon locally. Bainer.

We had two in High School
We had 2 ambi pitchers on my high school team. One was my brother, but when he switched to pitching left handed you could expect all curveballs and knuckleballs. The second guy was almost as hard a thrower right handed as left.
