plate shoes and face mask

i'm looking for recommendations on masks and plate shoes.
i'm looking for high quality, light weight gear. i do college and HS ball.

currently, i am using a wilson mask - ukn model - but it is not light weight. also using gerry davis patent leather shoes - good, but very heavy.
thanks.

As you know with every equipment recommendation, everybody has different opinions and everybody is right in a sense. Heres mine:

Mask: Wilson Chrome Moliben, Honig's Single Bar, Wilson Dyna-Lite (in that order)

Shoes: New Balance 450 (some hate the gray/white letter though), Spot-Bilt Low or High

For the mask, I recommend using the Wilson Chrome Moliben. It's light weight and you are able to see an extra few inches lower than a traditional mask.

The Honigs patent leather plate shoes are tons lighter than the GD's. Me, I don't mind the weight, I like the extra stability.

Plate shoe i like is the Tanel 360. It's light, good traction, and they don't look like frankenstein shoes.

I use the Honig Single Bar, and have for about 5 years.

I also use the GD Patents, and can't complain about the weight. I used the old Honig's low cut, and the GD's are lighter than those. Other's consider the GD's "heavy", but I have nothing but the Honigs as a reference.

I had a catcher step flush on top of my shoe yesterday and put a big cleat cut in my GD's. So, I am thinking of going with the New Balance. Unless there is a way to fix the cleat cut? Any suggestions.

I don't have currenlty, but I think my next plate shoe will be Tanel 360, based on what I have heard and read from others.

Single bar lightweight mask (K91) from Honigs has served me well and I have no reason to change.

I have a pair of work boots that have a steel toe and meditarsal (sp??) cover. They are light weight and very comfortable. I have even used them on the bases on occaision in wet games.
just me 3 cents worth (inflation)

I use Honigs single bar traditional face mask and like it very well.
Purchased a pair of "Dickies" brand steel toe shoes ($38.00) and instep protectors from Spot Bilt ($10.00). Works well for me and shoes maintain a high "shine". Needed to apply velcro strip on shoe to attach instep protectors.
