Here in Northern Michigan we usually get $35 for a single game and $65 for a double header. Some schools include mileage. JV usually pays $10 per game less. I've worked here in Michigan for nearly 17 years now, and this is standard, not just select schools ripping us off.

In fact, for the state tournament I think, the MHSAA still pays only $40 at the District and Regional level, and only $50 bucks for doing the semi-finals and finals. How is it that Michigan is apparently so far behind?

(Oh, by the way...LL here is voluntary...once in a while some may pay up to $20)
Well, for one thing, the cost of living here in California is ridiculously high compared with Michigan, and many other states. I have noticed that other high cost of living states usually do pay the umpires a bit more.

As far as Little League, it is voluntary here too, if they have District umpires, which many of the leagues here do not. If they didn't hire paid umpires they would not have umpires.

Around here the Soph level pays $55 for a double header and varsity is $75. Games are always double headers. This is largely the reason I got out of baseball and only do basketball now. I can do a jv/varsity double in basketball and make $100 while spending 1-2 hours less time working the games vs baseball. Spending up to five hours at the park doing two games for as little as $55 wasn't worth it to me. Please, no speeches about how I shouldn't be in it for the money. I realize nobody gets rich officiating high school sports, but I'm not going to lose money at it.

While it does help to love the game itself, there is nothing wrong with doing it for the money. I certainly wouldn't take this kind of abuse for free!

That's not what the post read, "At 1:42 hours home team is up by a couple and visitors are coming to bat"

If visitors are coming to bat with 3 minutes left in time we play on. If home team is coming up with 3 minutes left, and are leading, I would call the game if there is a second game to be played.

I live just next door (in Wisconsin) and made $110 for a HS DH on Monday.

In new hampshire, we get 52 for a JV game and 74 for varsity.

I also do babe ruth during the summer that's 40 a game

...i probably wouldn't do it for only 30 bucks a game

$55 for Varsity (bases and plate the same)
$45 for JV
$100 for JV/V DH
$110 for V/V DH, 4 different teams

I have no idea what the pay would be for a VDH with same two teams, probably $100. That has not happened in my memory.

My HS associations pay $45-$55 per Varsity game, with no distinction between plate or base. JV/Frosh games are between $35-$40.

The association I work that does summer ball pays a flat $50 per game, regardless of level or postition. So, if you do a U10 game or a Senior Babe Ruth/Legion game makes no difference. A 9 inning game is $72.

Uh.. hope it won't ruin your day, but 16 year olds get paid better than that ($35) for doing U12 in some leagues around here.
HS Varsity = $60 [actually, it may be $65 this year (new contract)]
JV= $55
Heck, we have one league that pays $55 for 13 yo 90' ball [all 2-man].
You guys need a union

My association pay $53 for varsity single and $93 for DH ($66/$107 solo), frosh-soph is $50/$97 for one-man (there are no two-man underclass games here). Summer ranges from $46 - $65 depending on level (10 y/o to 28+ MSBL)

In the GPAC (NAIA) we get 120 per DH plus mileage for the guy that travels the furthest. If both guys end up driving to the site, we usually split it. Gentelman's agreement. In the IIAC we get $150 per DH and no mileage.
