Late playoff official
Last night I went to watch a first round boys playoff at the local high school. During the warmups I only saw two officials. I asked one of the guys where their other partner was. He shrugged. "Late. He'll be here after a while."
It was a while. The guy arrived with two minutes left in the half. He took his position and the game continued. What would have been the repercussions for this where you live? Short term and long term? Would state regulations allow you to start a playoff game with two officials, especially if the third was known to be on the way? Given the choice, would you have allowed this guy to enter the game in the middle, or just say never mind? What kind of sanctions would your association have for this?
