Starting 2nd half with T

I feel sure this has been discussed here before. But here goes, forget the sitch just say the second half starts with a T. The T is definitely not part of the 2nd qtr.

At the end of the 2nd qtr, the V has the AP. The H has a T to start the 3rd quarter. Give me the rundown and the rule that that lets V shoot 2 FT, get the ball for a division line throw-in and retain the AP.

My partner tonight had this in his game the night before and I believe he got it right. I planned on e-mailing him a rules reference or case book reference to confirm that, but aside from 5-6-Exc4 and 10-1-Penalty I can't fnd another reference. Please help.

I believe since you have a method to put the ball in play to start the 3rd qtr (division line throw-in) you do not involve the AP at all. Are we correct, as this was my partners thought too.
