For the march in protocol, I'll save everyone the time, including you, by suggesting you watch the training module on https://www.volleyballreftraining.co...als_indoor.php
entitled "March in Protocol". Click the "More training modules" tab to get to that one in specific.

I'd recommend looking at the module for rule clarification on 11.2.2., but you'd have to sit through a lot of others, which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Since 11.2.2. was just changed this year, if you work NCAA volleyball, it's the same thing. If not, the rule change allows for a bit more flexibility before whistling this fault. I can only judge the intent to be to allow more play and less whistle on frivolous encroachments.

Part of the previous rule is retained, being that you must have your encroaching body part either on, or over the center line. Now, before whistling it, it has to pass through another criteria before you'd deem it a fault. It has to present a safety hazard to the opponent.

Meaning, you can have a player from Team A completely encroach an entire foot into the court of team B, however, if no one on Team B is near the encroachment, play on. If there's someone from the opposing team in the area or interference is present, it's a fault, and should be whistled.

If there's something I've missed or misinterpreted, someone'll chime in here. Hope that helps for the time being, though!
