PAVO Rule School -- Spectator Conduct
The referees suspend play during the second set due to unruly spectators from the home team who have affected playing conditions. No host administrator is present, so the head coach of the home team addresses the problem. During the third set, the referees must again suspend play due to the unruly spectators.

Rule school is not updated with the 2026/27 changes. I encountered several examples. In my experience, it has always fallen behind every year when there are changes.
There is no 19.2.5.4 (or 19.2.5)in the rules at all anymore. |

And, I have noticed at least some of the questions deal with this year's changes, so I assume question bank has been updated. It would e nice if there was some indication on the main screen of the updates. In any event, at least I know this rule now better than I did before.

Other things I learned:
30 A served ball contacts the net and falls to the serving team’s side. The first referee must wait until the ball contacts the floor on Team S’s side before whistling the service fault. Correct or incorrect? Incorrect (Thought we needed to wait, just in case R did something stupid) 43 Team A player #5 makes a spectacular play, contacts the ball and then lands in a nonplaying area. The ball crosses the net legally to Team B’s side where a Team B player immediately attacks the ball back to Team A’s side. The ball hits Team A player #5 who is still standing in the nonplaying area. The referee whistles, awards the point to Team B, and signals “out”. Is the referee's decision correct or incorrect? Correct (I agree it's B's point -- but I thought the call should be "touch") |

A player cannot play the ball in a non-playable area. Therefore her (would-be-first) contact does not count as such. In this case it is no different than the ball hitting the floor, wall or bleachers.
If the ball was contacted by a teammate first, the call would be a touch. But since it came straight from the other side - it is out. |
