So it sounds like the number doesn't have to be centered on the front of the jersey. Am I right about that? The way the rule is written, it sounds like you have one option OR a centered option. Am I reading too much into it?

Yes. It has been approved for change, but it's being phased in.

4-2-4d, f: Beginning July 1, 2029, the number on the front of the uniform must be centered on the upper half of the uniform top eliminating the measurement requirements from the shoulder seam and neckline.
