Profanity at end of game

How would you handle this situation?

This happened to me on the last day of NEQ in Philadelphia. I'm working with a certified R2 for this match. On match point, my partner calls a net fault to end the match. Nobody hears his whistle with all the other noise in the convention center. So I blow my whistle, signal the point, and mimic my partner's net fault signal. The girl who was in the net looks at me and yells, "What the [bleep] are you looking at???!?!?!"

As we used to say in the Basketball forum, the bleep started with F, ended in K, and wasn't "firetruck".

I've spoken to a few people who have been split on whether I should have red-carded the player. A couple have said (without hesitation) that they would show a card, even though the match is over. But others whom I respect at the highest level didn't like the idea of a card after the match (and the tournament) was over.

I understand that view, but I hate the idea of somebody dropping an f-bomb on me with literally no consequence. I did report the incident to the Championship desk, but they can't really do much, either.

So red card, or no?

Ordinarily, absolutely, red card for that. But the match is over. Will the score be 26 points now? Of course not.

Feel free to let championship know, and they can work with USAV or the player's region on if any further sanctions down the line should be assessed to that player, but other than that, the match is over, sign your sheet, get off the court.

I think the answer depends on the venue / level.

I had a DQ in a similar situation, but a JH match. Did it so the school would know and (potentially) impose additional penalties.
