bat hits ball
Batter hits a slow roller in front of the plate, drops bat in fair territory, rolling bat hits stationary ball. Is batter out?
What if spinning ball then comes back and hits stationary bat. Would ruling be same/different? Thanks |

Moving ball hits stationary bat - Live Ball, play on Moving ball hits moving bat - Dead Ball, batter out

Bat hits ball in fair ground - dead ball, out; in foul ground - foul. Ball hits bat (stationary or not moving toward ball) - live ball, play on.
