Goodbye

Well after so many years my body (knees, hips, and back) has given up the ghost, my patients has run out, and the milk of human kindness has run dry. I think I have had a good run, but for me it is time to call it a career. I don't want to be that guy that only leans out from behind the catcher for plays at second. or to have the teams cringe when they see its me doing their games. Also I think my yard has suffered enough neglect over the past twenty+ years. So this is it.

Goodbye, it has been fun.

I hope your yard and everything else you do works out very well.

Giving up the on-field stuff is all well and good. I hope I have the wherewithal to do it when my time comes.

But you are a font of knowledge. Evaluate and train younger umpires. Continue to remain a part of your association.

And by all means, continue contributing to this board!
