rule effect comparisons

For those of us that umpire more than one code/sanction;
does anyone know of a list comparing effects/penalties instead of or along with the rules themselves?
There are rules that are the same, but have different effects in different codes; so a list including those.
For example, the pitching question I raised, the leaving early effect in NCAA different than others, some interference out administration, DQ vs. ejection in some circumstances, etc.

Rule Comparisons....

From the NCAA SUP Website:

THE UMPIRE HANDBOOK OF SOFTBALL RULE DIFFERENCES
Version 13-For the 2012 Season

"This document discusses the major rule differences in softball rules between NCAA, ASA (female adult and JO), Federation, and USSSA. Each listing has the rule reference and points you to the actual rules. The document is presented in an easy to read format with a complete Table of Contents."

Cost-$10.00 (includes shipping)
Send check payable to John Bennett to:
John Bennett
6323 E.Via Ribazo
Anaheim, CA 92807

Don't have one myself, so I can't speak for the quality of the document.

I can speak to the quality and thoroughness of the author. John Bennett is one the most knowledgeable umpires I have ever had the privilige to meet and hear him present and discuss rules and rules differences. I cannot even begin to imagine that his document, particularly one he has worked on for 13 editions (years) is anything but complete, thorough, exhaustive, and accurate.

Send a message via AIM to argodad
John also sends an update (if required) as rule clarifications are announced.

I'm looking for a list that emphasizes effects/penalties or just covers those as opposed to the what players can and can not do aspects of the rules.

Rule Set Differences

Does anyone know if there is rule differene listing between ASA, Fed, and USFA. There are quite a few USFA tournaments popping up.

Does anyone know John Bennett's moniker on this forum or an email address?

USFA has one on line - it's called their rulebook.

Seriously - I'm not being a smartbutt. Their rules are "NFSA except the following", followed by a couple of pages per age group.

I doubt John would mind this; it can only help him get more business.

[email protected] is what I have.

Rules difference document almost ready

AltUmpSteve, thanks for the kind words. The 2013 document is almost ready. It is at the printers for a final inspection and edit. I already have some orders and will be mailing them out as soon as I get the document back from the printers.
