Question - Ball in Play

We have actually spent some time in clinics discussing the is. FP NHFS Is it necessary for the umpire to put the ball back in play after a foul ball, dead ball (Don't say it), or when time is called?

A simple point to the pitcher once she has the ball in the circle accomplishes it.

The small ballers don't like the term dead ball - a little dig at them.
