NCAA mechanics change

Forwarded to me from someone who was "out at the NCAA Conference Coordinators meeting this past weekend"

Only significant mechanics change is on a dropped strike 3. Plate umpire will still signal strike with raised fist, but then drop the arm down and give a safe signal to indicate the ball was dropped and is still alive. Third strike slap/bunt, if plate umpire has any question goes to base umpire just like a checked swing and asks 'slap or bunt' and base umpire gives appropriate response.

It looks like some college coaches have been "screwed" on a D3K call, or think that umpires don't know the difference between a slap and a bunt...

OK, so we will tell the BR when to run and confirm that we don't all agree on bunt/swing like checked swings.

Why is it I'm not shocked?

CCA manual

My current CCA manual is from 2009. Do you know if the 2011 version is different enough to be worth ordering? No platitudes, please.

If you register on arbitersports you will be getting one as part of your registration.
