I have a question on the appeal...
Obviously, if the ball beats the runner to 3B-OUT on that appeal. What if the runner beats the throw to 3B, do I understand correctly that the appeal would then be to home plate? Or can the runner be tagged? |

The appeal is then to home plate. The runner can be tagged.
So I'll submit this one to you: what if the throw to 3B gets away, and the runner retouches 3B and then proceeds home? Is the runner still liable to be put out on appeal? (This is a difference between baseball and ASA softball.)

The way I read the POE, the appeal would stand.

The runner can be tagged as long as the fielder doing the tagging makes it clear she's appealing the miss at home, and not just tagging her.
