It is. A pop fly that drops untouched to the infield and rolls foul is not a fair ball. The infield in NFHS was a triangle - home to 1B to 3B to home. Now it is a rectangle - home to 1B to 2B to 3B to home. Same as ASA.

Sounds like a square. Although I suppose a square can be a rectangle, but a rectangle cannot be a square. Or, maybe a diamond? Whichever...

Well, if you want to be exact, it is neither, at least not for this rule since 3/4 of 2B is outside the square.
