ASA Typographical Error

Digging through the ASA 2008 rule book tonight and found an obvious typographical error.

Rule 7-2-D(4), regarding batting out-of-order. First sentence reads, "Runners shall be removed from the base occupied..."

This should read, NO runners shall be removed from the base occupied..."

Kind of changes the whole context of that particular rule! I don't recall this being discussed or pointed out during the past year (perhaps it has been). Maybe some of you guys going to the national convention can bring this up.

You must have forgotten to use the secret hand shake or your decoder ring has a software glitch.

My copy reads:

4. No runner shall be removed from the base occupied except the batterrunner
who has been taken off the base by the umpire as in (2) above to
bat in the proper place. The correct batter merely misses the turn at bat
with no penalty. The batter following the correct batter in the batting order
becomes the legal batter.

Which was caught and a correction published on the umpire's page of the ASA web site.

AZ: Are you looking at an "Umpire Edition" 2008 rule book? The "No" is definitely not in my copy! It does appear in all of the previous year's rule books I went through (going back about five years).

Mike: I went throught the ASA web site before posting, but did not see that this had already been caught.

It is not in the Team edition either, so I assume Paul edited his book when he received it last year.
