NFHS questions
A few questions from the test. #46. An "infield fly" cannot be called if an outfielder catches the ball. Is this a trick question since you could call infield fly, batter is out, and then an outfielder catches the ball. It would still be an infield fly if an infielder could catch it with ordinary effort, rather or not that an outfielder did catch it.
2. #85. Substitution rules are in effect after the umpire-in-chief accepts the lineup cards from both coaches before the game. What do you consider to mean accept? When you first get the cards or after the coach has checked it over. Either one could be considered accepting. Dave |

#46: Your explanantion sounds right to me: IFF.
#85: Since we're giving the card back for the coach to check and presumably change any mistakes he has made, I would guess that the lineup is official after he has checked it and says that's how he wants it. |
