In ASA, the plate umpire is empowered to resolve any issues where a delay or reversal of a call by an umpire places runners in jeopardy. It sounds like this sitch qualifies.
I say put the BR on 1B, advancing all runners one base. Let the BU get chewed by the DC for the screw-up. I'll admit I've made a similar mistake by calling a catch in the outfield a split second too early.

Dave I haven't decided if I should call it from the dugout or the outfield. Apparently, both have really great views! Screw green, it ain't easy being blue! I won't be coming here that much anymore. I might check in now and again.
